Enemy Forces
In March of 1981 a truck convoy was spotted entering the village of Musa-Kala. This village near Pakistani border have long been controlled by the rebels and served as a rest spot and distribution point of caravans bringing arms and supplies to the mujahideen. Your brigade commander have decided to sweep the village with three battalions while airlifting your motorized rifle company ahead in order to ambush the escaping convoy en route. The convoys number five trucks escorted by at least 30 rebels, in addition to whoever could manage to escape Musa-Kala.
Friendly Forces
You have a dismounted platoon from your motorized rifle company under command. The platoon is reinforced with an engineer squad and a machinegun squad from the weapons platoon.

Terrain and Weather
The Hindu Kush mountain range gives way to a desert in the Kandahar region, the terrain is hilly and scarcely foliaged. The attack on Musa-Kala will commense (sic) at dawn, and you should expect the escaping convoy about 06-00. The weather is clear, the southern wind gentle and temperature pretty cold.
Mission
Your orders are to intercept and destroy the caravan and the mujahideen escorting it.
Commander's Intent
The ambush is set several kilometers northwest of Musa-Kala. The rebels will be unprepared for confrontation. Do not reveal your presense until the convoy is securely trapped, or the trucks may escape through one of the minor roads going north and south.
Basic Plan
The motorized rifle squads hid themselves on the hills on either side of the road, planting several mines on the ambush site. Let the front guard of the convoy, if any, pass through your trap. Do not let any of the trucks escape!
